Grants of up to $20,000 to New Mexico nonprofit organizations for programs that benefit children and families in the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Funding is intended for projects that promote the educational, physical, emotional, and social development of children and their families. Priority will be given to rural community programs addressing unmet needs for children 18 or younger.
This granting cycle, NMCF is prioritizing funding programs that are helping to:
Address and support emotional and social challenges provoked by COVID-19, and
Diminish barriers COVID-19 has/is adding to education and literacy attainment.
NMCF is focusing on the critical needs below in the coming year:
The Foundation’s charitable funds are available to 501(c)(3) nonprofit New Mexican children’s organizations with annual total budgets under $400,000.
Organizations that received multi-year funding in the 2022-2023 grant cycle are not eligible to apply until the end of their multi-year term (i.e., the organization received 2 years of funding and will be eligible to re-apply to NMCF in the 2024-2025 grant cycle).
The deadline to apply is March 11, 2023.
NMCF will notify applicants by mid-May 2023.
Estimated Size of Grant
- Funds requested should not exceed $10,000 for a single year.
- Maximum total multi-year funding is $20,000.
Term of Contract
Grants are approved for one year unless specified in award as a 2 or 3-year grant.
For organizations previously funded by NMCF or those seeking support for a new program serving an unmet need, funding can last between one and three years. Operating Expenses are eligible for single-year requests only.
