Grants of up to $15,000 and grants ranging from $15,000 to $75,000 to Colorado nonprofit organizations and government agencies for horticultural projects, educational activities, and research. Applicants must submit a brief letter of intent by August 30. Applications will be accepted for the following grant programs:

Major Grant Awards:

The organization supports horticulture and horticultural related projects and those groups and individuals that are involved or directly related.

Grant Types: Capital Improvements; Matching; Project/Program Support; Research

Annual Grants:

The organization supports horticulture and horticultural related projects and those groups that are involved or directly related. Education is emphasized. Areas of interest include horticultural-related research, education, therapy and community improvements.

Number of Grants:

There will be 40 Annual Grants made per year and 1-2 Major Grants per year.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Annual Grants: The maximum grant is $15,000.

Major Grants: Grant requests are restricted to a minimum of $15,000 and a maximum of $75,000.

Annual Grants:

Funding is limited to nonprofit and government agencies.

Grants are not available to homeowners associations and political organizations. Grants are not awarded for plan development or design; salaries, administrative costs or other overhead.

Major Grants:

Funding is limited to nonprofit and governmental agencies.

No funding for political organizations.

Pre-Application Information:

To apply for a grant you must submit a one-page letter of intent to Colorado Garden Foundation by August 30th.

Selected applicants will be requested to submit complete details by October 31st. Attachments related to the application are then accepted.

Grants are selected by early December with distribution in the spring of the following year.
