Grant Description
Grants to Iowa political subdivisions and incorporated private organizations for capital improvements and upkeep of recreational trails and facilities. Funding may be used for the acquisition of land, purchase of equipment, and other expenses related to the development and maintenance of snowmobile trails and facilities.

All areas, trails, and facilities established or maintained using revenues under this program shall be open to use by the general public.

Manufactured products or machinery purchased by sponsors with state assistance under this program shall be used only for the purpose of establishing or maintaining riding areas, trails, or facilities, and as emergency rescue equipment where applicable.

This program provides funds from snowmobile registrations to political subdivisions and incorporated private organizations.
Pre-Application Information
Timeline:
- March: Grant Applications Available on ISSA Website
- June 1: Grant Applications & Sign Orders Due to Iowa Snowmobile Trail Program - must be received or postmarked
- July: Grant Review and Selection Meeting Date
- August: Board Approval of Award Recommendations Emailed to Applicants
- September: Grant and Equipment Agreements Emailed to Applicants
- January: Signed Agreements Due back to Iowa Trail Program from the Applicants
- February: Signed Agreements Scanned and Emailed to Applicants
- March: Reimbursement Forms sent to Applicants
- May 1: Reimbursement Request Due Back to Iowa Trail Program

New Equipment- 25% match
Used 1-5 years old- 20% match
Used 6-10 years old- 15% match
Used 11-15 years old- 10% match
