Grants to Alberta nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for community beautification projects. Funding is intended for trash-removal projects from areas including, but not limited to highway ditches and streets. Applicants should provide the funding source with a time commitment between 50 and 100 hours; explain how the funds will be used; confirm dates that the group would be available to perform the work; and include an address and phone number for the group contact person. All clean-up participants must be at least 9 years of age. Projects must benefit the Town of Whitecourt.
The Town of Whitecourt offers non-profit organizations funding for performing refuse pick up duties.
All clean-up participants must be at least 9 years of age. There must be one adult (18 years of age or older) for every two youth between the ages of 9 and 14 years; and one adult for every five youth between the ages of 15 to 17 years.
Applications to the 2023 program will be accepted until 12 noon on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.
*Please note, payment will not be released until all provided safety equipment (vests, picking sticks) are returned. If items are missing, the cost of the missing items will be deducted from the Community Clean Up Grant allocation to your group.
Estimated Size of Grant
Approved groups will receive $12.00 for each hour of service, and total allocations for the program will be based on the annual budget.
Term of Contract
The refuse pick-up schedule typically runs from April to the end of October (weather permitting).
