Grants to USA nonprofits in multiple states for programs to enhance the quality of life for residents of communities where the funding source conducts business. A wide variety of programs may be funded including K-12 education, hunger relief, breast cancer and women's health, organizations that support the advancement of women and minorities, local United Way campaigns, grassroots community organizations, capital campaigns, start-up grants, and funding for special projects.

Eligible States include:
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming

In addition to supporting food banks, breast cancer organizations, and other organizations that help individuals achieve their full potential, the Foundation has provided financial support to a variety of other worthy grant recipients, such as:

- Greater Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation of Dallas to provide scholarships for Hispanic youth

- The Julian Center in Indianapolis to offer shelter and services for women escaping domestic violence and their children

- Open Hand in Atlanta to provide meals to homebound individuals struggling with AIDS and other chronic illnesses and disabilities

- San Diego Coast Keeper to support of coastal cleanup efforts at Southern California beaches

- Spokane Public Library in Washington for a summer science education program

The Foundation will consider only proposals from nonprofit organizations. Support will be provided only to programs that address a clearly identified need in the community and do so with clearly defined goals and objectives.

Only organizations that serve the geographic areas where the Foundation operates are eligible.

Ineligible organizations or grants:

- National or international organizations
- Conventions or conferences
- Dinners or luncheons
- Other foundations, except those associated with educational initiatives
- Endowment campaigns
- Ongoing operating funding, especially for agencies receiving United Way support (or other “federation type support” such as a Fine Arts Fund)
- Medical research organizations
- Sponsorship of golf or other sports events
- Religious organizations or institutions, if the project is for sectarian purposes
- Individuals
- Program advertisements
- Membership dues

Proposals may be submitted at any time through the operating Divisions of the company.
