Grants to Shreveport, Louisiana nonprofit arts organizations to support general operations. Applicants must consult with program staff prior to applying. This program provides general operating support to organizations with programming that significantly impacts the local community and enriches Shreveport’s cultural environment.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Applicants may submit requests for general programming/support purposes, not to exceed the following: 5% of your organization’s actual prior year actual income before the SRAC grant is awarded.

For Example: Your organization's actual cash BEFORE the SRAC grant award was $175,000, your total eligibility is $8,750.00.

Term of Contract:

Grants will be awarded for the grant period August 1, 2018 to July 31, 2019.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

All nonprofit arts organizations in possession of a Determination Letter from the Internal Revenue Service declaring the organization exempt from federal tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code are eligible to apply. A private nonprofit arts organization is defined as a private organization whose purpose, programs, and services are primarily arts related. Only arts organizations incorporated within the city limits of Shreveport are eligible to apply.

An arts organization is one that includes in its mission statement, as adopted by the board of directors, that providing arts activities to the public is primary to its mission.

This category provides support for organizations whose annual cash income budget is less than $500,000.

Pre-Application Information:

Grant amounts must be matched in cash dollar for dollar (1:1) by the amounts in the organization's operating budget.

First-time applicants should contact Shreveport Regional Arts Council for consultation and guidance before applying.

Technical Assistance: Applicants may call SRAC for assistance in the review and revision of the grant. SRAC cannot write grants for applicants. Applicants interested in technical assistance should call 673-6500 for an appointment. Applicants may also call to schedule a time to use the computer.

All applications must either be hand delivered to Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) or received by 5:00 PM on Friday, July 13, 2018.
