Grants of $2,500 and in-kind grants of volunteer services to Greater Milwaukee Area, Wisconsin nonprofit organizations for programs or initiatives that meet a specific community need. Consideration will be given to both new or existing programs in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, and Racine counties. Applications must demonstrate how their project solves a specific problem, issue, or risk.

In addition to the monetary award, Diversified Insurance Solutions will provide approximately 10 SPARK Power Hours to the nonprofit organization. The organization and Diversified will work together to identify a weekday volunteer opportunity for a number of Diversified associates during the months of May, June, July, August, or September.

Examples of potential winning programs include:
- A program that targets children who are at risk of developing diabetes. The award could be used to hire a diabetes educator to visit second-grade classrooms once a month for nine months.
- A program that focuses on reducing the risk of infant co-sleeping deaths by delivering cribs to mothers of newborns in a target neighborhood.

Entries will be evaluated on four criteria:

- Thoroughness and professionalism of application.
- Clarity and persuasiveness in identifying a need.
- Creativity, innovation, and effectiveness in addressing the need with the grant.
- Likely impact of grant to positively address the need.

Number of Grants:

One award will given per month in the months of May, June, July, and August, 2017.

Estimated Size of Grant:

A $2,500 grant from SPARK – Diversified’s Giveback program, and an in-kind grant of 10 SPARK Power Hours will be awarded to a nonprofit organization per month (May, June, July, and August, 2017).

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any authorized representative of a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee and Racine counties can enter their initiative, event or action.

Any organization that has received one $2,500 grant may not receive another within the same grant program year. However, organizations may submit up to five entries during the entry period that runs from April 1, 2017 through August 25, 2017.

Pre-Application Information:

The entry period for SPARK – Diversified’s Giveback program begins at 12:00:01 a.m. CT, April 1, 2017 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CT, August 25, 2017. All entries must be received by August 25, 2017.

The $2,500 grants will be awarded four (4) times from the submissions received between April 1, 2017 and August 25, 2017. Any entry submissions received, but not selected, will automatically roll over into the next grant cycle and do not need to be resubmitted. One (1) $2,500 grant recipient will be selected at the end of each of the four (4) months – May 2017, June 2017, July 2017 and August 2017. The grant recipient will be contacted and/or announced by approximately the 7th day following each award month.

Grant recipient contacted and/or announced around August 7, 2017. (Winner selected from entries submitted by July 25, 2017.
- Fourth $2,500 Grant Recipient - August
Grant recipient contacted and/or announced around September 7, 2017. (Winner selected from entries submitted by August 25, 2017.
