Grants to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations for legal assistance programs that address community issues or meet the needs of military veterans and the elderly. The Foundation seeks to improve public understanding of the law and legal system and support pro bono legal services to those in need.

The Allegheny County Bar Foundation (ACBF) was established by the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) in 1980 to conduct a broad range of educational and charitable activities related to the law. The mission of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation is to be a driving force in promoting justice for all and to improve the community through public service law-related programs. To fulfill this mission, the Foundation raises, manages and distributes funds; encourages and assists lawyers to provide pro bono legal services; and develops and supports public information initiatives in Allegheny County.

Legal-Aid Grants:

The ACBF supports programs that assist in responding to the changing legal needs in the community at large and promote the public understanding, interest and support of legal-related issues.

*In evaluating legal-aid grant requests, preference will be given to programs that aim to provide direct pro bono counsel to low-income clients.

Military Veterans and Elderly Fund:

The ACBF supports programs that assist military veterans and the elderly through fiduciary and legal services.
