Grants ranging from $100 to $1,000 to Southern Arizona schools, clubs, teams, and community groups for local projects that promote lifelong physical fitness programs for children. Funding is intended to support programs that encourage children to engage in exercise and develop a healthy lifestyle, regardless of their ability or physical condition. Emphasis is placed on running related activities.

The Southern Arizona Roadrunners Children’s Fitness Fund seeks to fund programs that prepare children for a lifetime of individual exercise.

Past grants have been made to schools, civic clubs, teams, and other groups.

The Southern Arizona Roadrunners is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting health and fitness in Tucson and Southern Arizona through running and walking.

SAR does not approve funding for administrative costs.

Pre-Application Information:

Starting June 14th until August 4th proposals can be submitted. Please have your submissions entered in by 5 PM on August 4th in order to be reviewed by the SAR board.

Approval and distribution of funds will occur by the mid-September each year.

The funding is contingent upon all essential factors in the proposal remaining the same (i.e. activity, site, beneficiaries, duration, etc.).
