Grants to California nonprofit organizations and individuals in eligible locations to support performing arts programs for youth. Funding is intended to strengthen collaborations and offer resources to improve education and exposure to performing arts, with special consideration given to teachers and schools, programs that incorporate music, and underserved residents. Activities should benefit the greater Santa Barbara community. Previous grants have supported scholarships, workshops, residencies, and in-school and after-school programs.


  • Must support youth 
  • Must be in Santa Barbara County 
  • Must be related to performing arts education 
  • Higher priority weighted to returning applicants 
  • Higher priority weighted to programs primarily focusing on music 
  • Higher priority weighted to programs primarily focusing on underserved communities 
  • Higher priority weighted to programs focusing on Santa Ynez Valley and/or Northern Santa Barbara County

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Organizations and individual applicants can apply. Higher priority weighted to programs focusing on Santa Ynez Valley and/or Northern Santa Barbara County.

Types of some organizations that have received past support:
- Artists
- Schools
- Teachers
- Community organizations

Examples of requests the Foundation is not able to support:
- Capital improvements
- Furniture and office supplies
- Programs that have already taken place
- Programs that do not serve youth performing arts.

Application timeline:
- Applications due Friday, October 22, 2021 by midnight - no exceptions. 
- Application reviewed mid-November by the Outreach committee.
- Final awards will be notified by mid-December.
