Grants ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 to New Jersey municipalities for programs and projects that aim to (a) provide increased access to biking opportunities, and/or (b) promote road safety for bikers and drivers alike. Funding will only be provided to municipal agencies from Morris, Somerset, Hunterdon, Warren, and Sussex counties that are seeking to:

A. Pursue an innovative demonstration project that improves street safety for cyclists in their community.

B. Accelerate the implementation of the NJ for the Complete Streets policy adopted by the state and many municipalities. (See:

C. Bridge gaps in active transportation routes (trails, path, sidewalks, cycle-friendly streets) in order to provide Complete Connections to public transit or car pool options.

$1,000 - $2,500

Eligible Applicants: Municipal Governments

The Application:
Please send a letter describing your intended project and hoped-for impact, the budget required, a timeline with milestones, and the way you will measure success. Please include the names of those responsible for putting the grant money to work and acting as the fiscal agent. At key milestones you identify, the Foundation requires an email update and at the conclusion of the project, you’re asked to send a brief report based on the goals set and the outcomes and any supporting material (project communications, press, photos, etc.).

Applications are accepted on a rolling submission basis.
