Grants of up to $1,000 and grants of up to $2,500 to Florence County, South Carolina nonprofits and individuals for arts projects and professional development opportunities. The professional development is intended for arts administrators and artists. Arts projects may be in the areas of dance, music, opera, musical theatre, visual arts, design arts, crafts, photography, media arts, literature, and folklore/traditional arts.

Organizations are eligible to apply for up to $2,500 in funding.
Individual Artists may apply for up to $1,000 per award.
Projects must begin in January, February, or March and end before June 1, 2018.
Organizations must be based in Florence County with a Florence County mailing address and be registered charitable organizations with federal nonprofit status.
Individual artists must be practicing artists in dance, literature, music, theatre or the visual arts and have a Florence County mailing address. Individual artists must be over the age of 18 at the time of application. Individual artists cannot apply for funding for projects that are related to academic credit or be a degree-seeking, full-time student during the grant period.
No entity or individual can receive more than two (2) grants per year (Quarter 1 through Quarter 4). No entity or individual can apply for more than one (1) grant per quarterly deadline.
FRAA’s Quarterly Grants Program has four deadlines annually:
- May 15 for projects beginning in July, August or September and ending before June 1.
- August 15 for projects beginning in October, November or December and ending before June 1.
- November 15 for projects beginning in January, February or March and ending before June 1.
- February 15 for projects beginning in April, May or June and ending before June 30.
Applicants will be notified of their application’s status within one week of the Grants Dispersal Committee’s meeting.
Organizations are required to make a 2:1 match. No more than 50% of that match can be in-kind.
Individuals are required to make a 1:2 match. 100% of the applicant’s match must be in cash. No in-kind or creative time is allowed to be part of the applicant’s match.
