Grants to Connecticut and New Jersey nonprofit organizations and government agencies to enhance dental health of underserved populations, with a particular emphasis on the developmentally disabled, seniors, and children. The Foundation seeks to support projects that solve a range of oral healthcare challenges.

Since 1986, the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation, Inc., has worked to promote and assist educational projects devoted to the enhancement of dental health, as well as access to dental care programs designed to increase public awareness of the general benefits of good oral health and to improve dental health through the science of dentistry.

Grantees must file an application annually, even when they are continuing programs from year-to-year.

Grantees must include a copy of their current valid Internal Revenue Service tax exemption determination letter (must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit or a government entity) or most current 990 form.

While many grant applicants are return grantees, the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation encourages organizations and/or schools that have never applied for funding (and meet the Requirements of Grantees), to apply. The Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation is always looking to expand its outreach.

The Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation Will Not Fund:
-Individuals
-Entities that do not have a 501(c) tax exemption
-Projects, programs, and/or services non-dental related
-Projects, programs, and/or services located outside of New Jersey or Connecticut
-Non-oral health related promotional items such as balloons and t-shirts

The Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation is now accepting grant applications for 2018 funding. All grant applications are due by Monday, August 14, 2017.

If you wish to apply for a SMILE Grant or Mini-Grant or have any questions about the 2018 grant cycle, please contact Kimberly Elmore (see contact details below) in order to receive the Grant Application.

The Foundation Board of Trustees meets three times a year. At the September meeting, the Board reviews the preliminary (Round One) grant applications for the upcoming year. Those applicants that are selected for further consideration are notified they will be moving to the next round (Round Two). Those applicants will be required to complete a more extensive grant application. Those applicants not selected also will be notified.

At the December meeting, the Board reviews and awards grants. All are notified of the outcome.
