Grants starting at $10,000 to Florida nonprofits in Sarasota County, and the Boca Raton region for collaborative programs that address emerging issues and impact local communities. The pre-application deadline is April 4, 2018. Eligible projects are those that target regional priorities, utilize creative strategies, provide measurable data to assess impact, and include strategies for sustainability.

Successful leveraged grants involve multiple partners that extend the impact of your program or project.

Strategic Priority areas:

Creating Opportunity for All – Projects to enable and expand access to opportunity for current residents and the next generation. This means working to mitigate the financial realities and risks of those living on the edge by creating jobs that pay livable wages, by finding solutions to affordable housing, by creating educational pathways for our youth, and by expanding financial literacy for residents in the region.

Taking Care of Our Own – Projects that focus on supporting vulnerable residents. Issues to be addressed include substance abuse, chronic adult homelessness, subsistence living, and mental healthcare access.

Building the Innovation Economy – Projects to be future-ready and build the education, workforce, and entrepreneurial networks needed to diversify the local economy. Nurturing innovation, expanding knowledge, and supporting creativity must start in school. From there, expanding business support networks, access to capital, real-time workforce training, and focusing on regional innovation clusters provide opportunities for the region’s youth and entrepreneurs to stay and grow in the region.

Enhancing Our Unique Places – Projects to preserve and improve the greatest competitive strengths of the region—the unique communities, natural assets, amenities, and lifestyles. The growing population, continuing development pressures, shifting mobility demands, and emerging extreme weather risks present significant long-term challenges to the quality of life in the region.

Advancing Civility – Projects that support the next generation of elected leaders and private citizens, raise the level and tenor of public dialogue, celebrate diversity, and provide more opportunities for more people to become engaged and to volunteer in the region.
