Grants ranging from $500 to $2,000 to Arkansas cities and counties to promote festivals taking place in small communities. Funding is available to communities with populations under 10,500 to advertise festivals through newspapers, radio, magazines, posters, radio, billboards, flyers, and online advertising.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants will be awarded in increments of $50 with a minimum of $500 and a maximum of $2,000.

Term of Contract:

This grant covers expenses between July 1, 2018 and June 28, 2019.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The only entities eligible to apply for this grant are:
-Incorporated Cities with a population of less than 10,500
-Counties (on behalf of a community with a population of less than 10,500)

The following may not make application for this grant:
-Cities/communities with a population of 10,500 or more
-Chambers of Commerce
-Regional Tourist Associations
-Convention and Visitors Bureaus
-Colleges and Universities
-Other private non-profit corporations, foundations, clubs or organizations
-Any other private entity

Ineligible Projects:
-Festival supplies, clothing, or other items that can be used for resale
-Vendor contracts
-Anything that is not advertising

Pre-Application Information:

Grants will be a 2/3 cash match. In-kind contributions are ineligible as a match. Other state funds received by a city or county qualifying or utilizing funds under this program are also ineligible as a match.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 5:00 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

All applications must be physically received in the Parks and Tourism office by this date. Applications simply postmarked by this date are not acceptable. Applications may be emailed, but they must arrive prior to the deadline. It is the responsibility of the applicant to confirm the email was received.

Recipients will be notified on or before May 1.
