In-kind grants to Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee PreK-12 teachers to bring their students to live shows at a Memphis theater. In addition receiving to free entry for their class, each teacher will attend a professional development workshop. This program provides all students, regardless of resources, the opportunity to engage with live theater and arts-integrated learning.
Teachers will create a lesson plan connecting a show in the Orpheum Student Matinee series to an existing classroom objective. The grant panel is looking for lessons that provide an opportunity for students create their own learning and to make deep, meaningful connections to the curriculum. They are also looking for creative, arts-integrated lessons that have multiple connections and are deeper than surface level summary or plot based activities.

-Hansel & Gretel September 26-28, 2017 (Orpheum Theatre)
-Rhythmic Circus November 15-16, 2017 (Orpheum Theatre)
