Grants of up to $10,000 to Tennessee nonprofit organizations and government entities for programs that support individuals with disabilities, as well as their families. Applicants must submit an LOI prior to submitting a full application. Funding is intended for capacity-building programs to strengthen and enhance the nonprofit’s ability to achieve its mission and sustain itself over time.

Examples of funded proposals:
- Add technology for outreach, communication, managing finances, store data, and optimize operations
- Create a resource library of video/podcasts
- Develop a formal volunteer program
- Purchase equipment (i.e., hearing assistive technology, computers) which can be used by many and over time
- Assist in the funding of a new chapter of the organization

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Tennessee Disability Coalition grant funds are available for award to projects and programs in the State of Tennessee, United States of America (USA) that are IRS-designated tax-exempt organizations-501(c)(3) and to governmental entities.

In general, the Coalition makes $100,000 available for discretionary grants each year, dependent upon the availability of funds, with $50,000 available for the spring grants and $50,000 available for the fall grants. Five grants for up to $10,000 each for a one-year term may be awarded in a grant cycle. Awards will be merit-based, following a point system outlined in the application.

The Small Grants Program does not fund:
- Membership fees
- Conferences
- Fundraisers
- Replacement of lost or discontinued funding
- Grants to individuals
- General operating costs
- Political activities
- Social events

Pre-Application Information:

There is a two-step application process:
1. Submission of a brief Letter of Interest with a budget outline (Letter of Interest Guidelines)
2. Submission of a full proposal, if requested, using the Full Proposal (Guidelines and Format)

Letter of Interest: September 20, 2018 by noon (Central Time)
Full Proposal, if requested: October 31, 2018 by noon (Central Time)
