Grants to Chicago Metropolitan area, Illinois nonprofit organizations for programs that will benefit local residents. Funding will be awarded to programs in the areas of health care, arts and culture, education, and human services for underserved populations. Special consideration is given to charitable organizations that address the health concerns of older adults, through either direct programming or research.

The majority of grants from the Lange Burk Fund are one year in duration.
Nonprofit organizations may apply.
The Foundation will consider requests for general operating support only if the organization’s operating budget is less than $1 million.
In general, grant requests for individuals, endowment campaigns or capital projects will not be considered.
The Henrietta Lange Burk Fund has biannual deadlines of June 1 and November 1.
Applicants for the June deadline will be notified of grant decisions by September 30. Applicants for the November deadline will be notified by March 31.
Applications are due by 11:59 PM on the day of the Foundation’s deadline date. If the application deadline date falls on a weekend or holiday, proposals must be submitted on the prior business day.
