Alaska NASA EPSCoR
Grants of $20,000 and grants of $30,000 to Alaska IHE faculty members to initiate new research goals related to aeronautics and space exploration. Researchers who are women, individuals with disabilities, and under-represented minorities are encouraged to participate.
Alaska NASA EPSCoR Program is currently soliciting research initiation proposals from Affiliated University researchers. The Research Initiation program will provide funds to initiate new research collaborations with NASA scientists and engineers. The goal of the Research Initiation Grant program is to encourage, support, and facilitate the development and enhancement of NASA relevant science and engineering research within the state of Alaska. Proposed research projects must be in an area that is aligned with a new or continuing NASA research priority and/or technology need and with Alaska NASA EPSCoR research priorities.
Research Seed Grants provide early career faculty, or mid-career faculty seeking to realign their research focus, opportunities to develop collaboration with NASA centers. A research initiation grant is designed to give a PI initial funding for a research topic that is relevant to NASA and its strategic objectives. The goal is for the research to mature so the PI can submit a competitive proposal to one of the NASA's regular grant programs.
The overarching goals of this NASA EPSCoR RID proposal are to build Alaska’s research infrastructure and technology capabilities by providing seed funding and incentives that will lead toward long-term, self-sustaining, nationally-competitive capabilities in support of NASA related research and technology priorities. For research priority areas, see the URL for Full Text below.
GrantWatch ID#: 175744
The Research Initiation program will provide up to $20,000 (total direct costs) or if a collaborative proposal between MAU’s, up to $30,000 (total direct costs)
Period of performance is one-year.
