Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $5,000 to Alabama nonprofit organizations and schools for educational and community projects in the arts. Funding is intended to support innovative programs in dance, music, fine arts, drama, and folk arts, with priority given to arts education, creativity, and statewide impact.

The purpose of the Alabama Arts License Tag Grant Program is to promote the arts in Alabama.

Proceeds from the sale of the tag will be used to fund a variety of school and community projects. Interested parties may purchase one when renewing their auto plate or may exchange their current license plate for one of the new Support the Arts plate at their county Probate Judge's Office.

Estimated Size of Grant:

One grant request per organization up to $5,000 will be considered per deadline.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

A grant may be submitted from non profit organizations with a 501 (c) (3) designation, schools or school systems.

Grants will not be considered for individuals.

- Application Deadline: Friday, December 21, 2018
- Tag Committee Meeting: Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.

Attention: Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date to guarantee review.

Online applications are not accepted at this time. Applicants should submit the form by mail to the Support the Arts License Tag Committee.

One grant request per organization up to $5,000 will be considered per deadline.

Only one grant per organization will be awarded per fiscal year (October 1 - September 30).

If funded, the following statement must be included in all materials pertaining to the program/ project: "This program/project is funded in part by the Support the Arts License Tag Fund."
