Fellowships to Alaska nursing students to work for at least one year in a small community. Funding is intended to support candidates that have a strong academic record. Preference will be given to students who plan on working in operating rooms, students who demonstrate financial need, and students who are eligible for graduation within 2 years of academic term for when the award will be used.
The David E. Knox Memorial Nursing Fellowship was established to support outstanding candidates in the pursuit of registered nursing degrees and service to small Alaskan communities. The Fellowship provides awards of up to $2,500 for those who agree to practice as a nurse/RN in a small rural community within the state of Alaska (less than 50,000 residents per current census figures) for a minimum of one year.
