Grants to Northwest Florida nonprofit organizations to enhance the quality of life within the funding source’s service territory of Bay, Escambia, Holmes, Jackson, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton, and Washington Counties. Program areas may include but are not limited to education, community vitality, environmental stewardship, poverty, and human needs. The Foundation gives priority to requests that directly address poverty and education.

Funds must be spent within 12 months.

Organizations desiring to submit grant applications must provide the following required documentation along with the grant request form:

-Tax exempt determination letter from the IRS indicating the organization as a 501(c)3 charitable organization
-Florida Charitable Solicitation license, dated within 1 year
-Description of goals, purpose, and objectives of the organization
-Current operating budget, including percentages used for program, administrative, fundraising and general expenses
-Program or project budget for the requested grant, including all sources of financial support
-Audited financial statement from the previous year
-Most recent Form 990
-List of any Gulf Power and/or Southern Company employees currently serving in any roles within the organization

Requesting organizations must:
-Be located within or serve a county within Gulf Power’s service territory
-Serve the community without discriminating on the basis of age, race, gender, or religion

The Gulf Power Foundation will not consider grants for individuals, religious institutions, athletic teams or organizations whose primary focus is to support athletic teams, or grants for political campaigns/purposes.

Requests should be submitted by March 15, June 15, September 15, and December 15 to be considered for the respective quarterly meetings. Deadline dates are subject to change.

Grants are typically awarded within 2-4 weeks following the Foundation Board meetings; however, this timeframe is subject to change. Contact should be made with the Foundation Administrator prior to submitting grant requests to confirm these details.
