Grants to New Castle, Colorado nonprofit organizations for events and activities that enrich or preserve the education, health, fitness, and welfare of the local community. Funding is available through the following two funding streams: community support activities, and arts and special events.

Arts and Special Events Grants - Arts organizations, special events, and art-based educational organizations

The Town of New Castle aims to promote broad participation in the arts and special events, encourage resource-sharing and collaboration, and provide equitable access within the Town to its limited resources through grants to arts organizations and special events.

The arts and special events community may receive grants to support activities within the Town of New Castle that address the Town policy to develop, maintain, and encourage the expansion of an environment conducive to festivals, performing arts, visual arts, and special events. In brief, applicants must be prepared to specifically address:

1. Community responsiveness and support of activities;
2. Quality of event(s) and/or programming;
3. Management effectiveness, fund-raising techniques and use of local media; and
4. Compliance with Town of New Castle policies and ordinances.

Community Support Grants - Service (human, welfare, and community), athletic, and educational organizations

The Town of New Castle aims to promote broad participation in community support organizations, encourage resource sharing and collaboration, and provide equitable access for the Town of New Castle community to its limited resources through grants to community support organizations.

Community support organizations may receive grants to support activities and programs that are accessible to the Town of New Castle community and that address the Town policy to encourage the development of an environment conducive to healthy community organizations that provide programs for citizen welfare and education in the region. In brief, applicants must be prepared to specifically address:

1. Community responsiveness and support of activities;
2. Quality of activity(s) and/or programming;
3. Management effectiveness, fund-raising techniques and use of local media; and,
4. Compliance with Town of New Castle policies and ordinances.

The funding period for the 2018 grant cycle is January 1 through December 31, 2018.

Arts and Special Events Grants:

Applications will be accepted from organizations and events that provide educational, artistic, entertainment and cultural opportunities for the public to participate in within the New Castle Town limits.

Applicants may apply as a nonprofit organization, or under the umbrella of a nonprofit organization with a compatible mission statement. A letter of agreement between the applicant and any umbrella organization must be included with the grant application.

Not Funded:
1. Debt and deficit reduction;
2. Out of town activities;
3. Entertainment costs, receptions, and so forth;
4. Commercial (for profit) enterprise or activities; and
5. Capital improvements.

Community Support Grants:

Applications will be accepted from organizations that provide programs for citizen welfare and education. Programming and activities shall be accessible to the Town of New Castle community.

Applicants may apply as a 501(c)3 organization, or under the umbrella of a 501(c)3 organization with a compatible mission statement. A letter of agreement between the applicant and any umbrella organization must be included with the grant application.

Colorado nonprofit applicants with no 501(c)3 certificate, or umbrella organization may apply and be granted funds with stipulations, such as, staggered payments, periodic reports, presentations to the Town, and so forth.

Not Funded:
1. Debt and deficit reduction;
2. Entertainment costs, receptions, and so forth;
3. Commercial (for profit) enterprise or activities; and
4. Capital improvements.

The deadline for the applications is November 17, 2017, 5:00 PM.

Notification will be by the end of 2017.
