Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine (CFGM)

Grants of up to $5,000 to Muscatine County, Iowa nonprofit organizations for projects, programs, and services to improve the local quality of life. Funding may be used for a wide range of focus areas. Applicants must clearly describe how their project will benefit Muscatine County residents.
Additionally, annual grants from endowment funds within the Community Foundation may be available. With a few additions to the online application, you may be eligible for grants from the following endowment funds:
Additional granting funds:
- Hilda E. Collitz for the Homeless
This bequest provides grants for the use and benefit of those in the Greater Muscatine area to prevent homelessness or who are homeless through circumstances beyond their control. Note how your application addresses homelessness and why no other funding assistance is available.
- Hilda E. Collitz for Housing
This bequest provides grants for the use and benefit of those in the Greater Muscatine area for the acquisition of land and/or construction of living spaces to prevent families and individuals from homelessness. Preference will be given to Muscatine habitat for Humanity’s Muscatine County projects. Note how your application addresses homelessness and why funding is needed.
- George Millett Memorial
A gift from the estate of George Millett is used for grants to benefit those with mental disabilities who are residents of Muscatine County for things not covered by other governmental or nonprofit organizations.
- Ray Hockersmith Memorial
This fund provides grants for the benefit of the blind, vision impaired or disabled children under the age of 15 to experience special recreational activities to enhance their lives.

The funded project must be completed within one year of awarding.
Nonprofit, charitable tax-exempt organizations delivering programs and services to residents of Muscatine County are encouraged to apply for a grant.
If your charitable cause is not a 501(c)3 organization, you may qualify by partnering with another organization or the Community Foundation. To learn more, call the office.
Projects, programs, or services may not be started prior to grants being awarded.
Trips outside of Muscatine County are not traditionally funded.
The deadline for applying for a grant from the Muscatine County Endowment Re-Granting Program is twice per year.

One application per organization is allowed per granting cycle.
