Nora Roberts Foundation (NRF)
Grants to Maryland, Washington, DC, and West Virginia area nonprofit organizations for programs and projects that focus on arts, literacy, children, and humanitarian efforts. While all areas are considered, the Foundation primarily concentrates its funding on literacy programs.
Please note: The most important part of the online application is the summary. The summary should answer the following questions:
- What is the organization's purpose?
- How does the project or organization uniquely and directly benefit one or more of the focus areas above?
- What would a donation to your organization be used for?
GrantWatch ID#: 178281
All organizations supported must be a registered 501(c)(3) and have an EIN number.
The Foundation generally shows preference to groups that are local to the Maryland, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia area.
Deadlines for applications are based on the quarterly board meetings in January, March/April, June/July, and October/November. To be safe, submit your application by December 1st, March 1st, June 1st, and October 1st to be considered at that quarter’s meeting.
The new application system requires registering as an organization prior to applying. It is a one-time step that will help the Foundation track information. The Foundation hopes to respond within 2-3 business days to all organizations requesting access.
