Grants of up to $3,500 to Florida individual artists in eligible locations for artistic and professional development. Funding is intended to support artists as they advance in their careers and take the next step in their artistic development. Eligible applicants reside in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, or St. Johns County. Past grants have been awarded based on how applicants intend to use grant funds to further their work, the extent to which their practice is rooted in Northeast Florida, and their artistic accomplishments.

Term of Contract:

June 15, 2021 - May 30, 2022. No grant funds may be requested for expenditures that occur prior to June 15, 2021.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be:
- At least 18 years of age
- Legal residents of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, or St. Johns county, and have resided in one of these counties for at least 12 months at the time of application.

Applicants may NOT be:
- Students enrolled in an art-related degree program, or planning to pursue a degree in the coming year
- Curators, promoters, presenters or festival organizers. Eligible applicants are the artists themselves
- A recipient of a 2020 Art Ventures grant. Due to the high demand for grants, artists may not receive grants in consecutive years and are only eligible for three Individual Artist grants in a lifetime.

Pre-proposal Conference:

A grantmaking workshop recording will be posted on the website on January 4, 2021.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are due by February 15, 2021, at 5:00 PM.

Due to the high volume of submissions, applicants are encouraged to submit all materials in advance of the deadline. The Community Foundation may not be able to provide technical assistance on the due date.

Grants will be announced by June 30, 2020.
