Grants starting at $500 to Bremer County, Iowa nonprofit organizations and government entities to enhance the quality of life for local residents. Program areas include education, health, environment, arts and culture, community betterment, human services, and historic preservation. Special funds are designated for projects serving the Readlyn and Waverly communities.
The Bremer County Community Foundation (BCCF), the Readlyn Community Fund (RCF), and the Waverly Community Fund (WCF) provide grants to improve life throughout Bremer County, Iowa, as well as in Readlyn and Waverly specifically. The Foundation seeks to help develop all its communities into places where people want to live, as well as to benefit rural areas of the county.

Grant Request minimum is $500. Maximum for BCCF requests is $10,000. Maximum for RCF and WCF requests is $5,000 each. Maximum combined request from all three funds is $20,000.
To be eligible for a grant, applicants must be 501(c)(3), tax-exempt non-profit organizations or government entities in good standing with the IRS, and the projects must benefit the residents of Bremer County, Waverly, and/or Readlyn. Charitable projects conducted by tax-exempt organizations classified as other than 501(c)(3) may also be eligible; please contact the office to discuss your proposal.
For groups, projects, or initiatives that are not classified by the IRS as 501(c)(3), tax-exempt non-profit organizations (or equivalent) or government entities, the Foundation will consider your requests if submitted through a fiscal sponsor. Fiscal sponsors must be classified as a 501(c)(3) or a government entity. The Foundation prefers that the fiscal sponsor’s mission closely align with the sponsored project.
- The grant application deadline is 11:59 pm on March 31, 2019.
- All applicants will be notified of the results of the grant process in mid-June 2019.
- Grant awards will be presented during a ceremony in late June 2019.
