Award of $500 to a Kansas or Missouri grade 4-12 teacher in the Greater Kansas City area to recognize outstanding STEM education in the classroom. The purpose of this award is to honor a teacher who is a leader in STEM education and excels at motivating students in scientific exploration.

Teacher Qualifications:
-Teaching at least one class period in grades 4-12 areas of STEM
-Annually engages students in scientific research
-Prepares students to successfully compete in the Greater KC Science & Engineering Fair
-Is a leader in science education and provides service to the profession

Kansas City area teachers in grades 4-12 are eligible.

Pre-Application Information:

The nomination form is due March 1, 2019. The application form will be emailed to the candidate.

The completed application form must be received by March 15, 2019.

The teacher or another person with knowledge of nominee’s qualifications may complete the nomination form. To nominate a teacher or self-nominate, download and complete the nomination form.

The award of $500 and a plaque is given annually at the annual Greater KC Science & Engineering Fair Awards Ceremony.
