Grant applicants should keep in mind that priority is given to projects that:
-Build on the strengths and assets of individuals, organizations and institutions;
-Involve all relevant people in developing the proposed activities and performing the work for which funding is requested; and
-Address underlying causes, rather than treat symptoms, by seeking to change policies or institutional arrangements in order to strengthen the community.

The Fund provides grants in the following areas of interest:

A. Economic Development: The Fund supports programs designed to improve the economic strength of the Bogalusa community and of individuals in the community.

B. Human Services: Human problems are varied and complex; they affect every segment of the community. The Fund’s overriding concern, in this area, is to promote community responsibility for the unfulfilled human needs existing in the Bogalusa area and to enable individuals and communities to address those needs.
