Grants of up to $3,000 to Wisconsin nonprofit organizations to benefit local children and youth who face social, developmental, physical, or economic challenges. Funding may be requested to support pilot projects, make existing programs more effective, and make start-up efforts possible. Grants must benefit children and youth in Dane County.

Organizations must direct their applications to one of the following committees:
  • Developmental Disabilities Committee: Programs supporting children and youth with developmental and other disabilities
  • Youth Development Committee: Programs supporting middle and high school age youth
  • Child and Family Committee: Programs supporting children from birth through elementary school and their families

Estimated Size of Grant:

The Kids Fund will grant up to $3,000, but this amount may be exceeded upon formal approval of the Executive Committee, as well as the Committee to which the grant is submitted.

Term of Contract:

The Kids Fund does not make multi-year commitments in its standard grant cycle.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant must be a tax-exempt public charitable organization. The Kids Fund does not make grants to organizations classified as private foundations by the IRS. The Determination letter must be attached.


- The Kids Fund does not fund individuals, endowments or debt retirement.
- The fund does not provide grants to religious organizations unless the services are non-doctrinal and are in the specified areas of interest.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for grant submission is March 1. There is only one grant cycle each calendar year.

Grant proposals should be submitted to only one Kids Fund Committee. Please note that the method of application submission varies according to the committee (see contact details below).
