Foundation / Corporation
Mississippi Tennis Association (MTA) - USTA Mississippi
Grants of up to $10,000 to Mississippi local government agencies, public tennis facilities, and school districts to build new tennis courts, renovate or improve existing tennis courts, and/or add amenities (such as lights, bathrooms, and clubhouses) to their facilities. In addition, funding is available to add blended lines to current 78-foot tennis courts.
Blended lines are lines that blend in with the color of the court surface and are used for the conversion of 78-foot courts to 36-foot or 60-foot courts. These courts are used for youth under the age of 10.
The construction of and the addition of new courts in the state of Mississippi is a top priority for the Mississippi Tennis Association. The ability to attract new players and to provide adequate programs for current players depends on new court construction.
Increasing the total amount of playable courts is also a top priority in Mississippi. Applicants that plan to install “blended” 60-foot or 36-foot lines for 10-and-under play will also be given priority over those applications that do not plan to implement 10-and-under blended lines. Sanctioned tournament play and Junior league play still requires 60-foot lines for 10-and-under age division play, so increasing the amount of courts with permanently painted lines is preferred.
