Nevada Community Foundation - Hughes and Jones Music Fund
03/22/19 5:00 PM PST Delivered or Postmarked
Grants of up to $5,000 to Nevada public middle schools and high schools in rural districts to purchase musical instruments. Funding is intended to provide current and future students with the opportunity to participate in music programs such as band, orchestra, mariachi, and strings. Applicants must demonstrate need and detail the expected community benefit. Instruments will remain the property of the school and available for the continuous loan and use by participating students.
The goal of the program is to make musical instruments available to students who might not otherwise be able to afford them and enable local schools to maintain the ownership for student use for years.
GrantWatch ID#: 179345
Approximately twenty (20) grants will be awarded.
Public schools may apply for up to $5,000.
The Hughes & Jones Music Fund will accept proposals in 2019 exclusively from Nevada rural county Middle and High Schools.
In even years, the Fund will accept proposals exclusively from Clark and Washoe Middle and High Schools. In odd years, all rural Counties may apply, excluding Clark County School District and Washoe County School District.
Only one (1) proposal may be submitted per program. A school may submit more than one proposal, as long as the musical instruments are for a separate unique program.

Awards will be announced by email by April 26, 2019.
