Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Delaware nonprofit organizations for a broad range of programs and projects focusing on benefiting the State's Latino population. Applicants must submit a pre-proposal form at least two weeks prior to the application deadline. Funding is provided for research, educational opportunities, access to healthcare, and special youth programs.

The Fund focuses on providing:

1. Educational Opportunities

With the goals of immigrant integration and increasing educational opportunities, grant-funded educational programs lead to many important outcomes for participants. These include earning high school diplomas and college degrees, finding employment, earning promotions, and working towards fulfilling citizenship requirements. The majority of these programs are considered family literacy programs and include childcare during adult classes as well as parent-child education components.

2. Access to Healthcare

Since 2008, funding for Hispanic-serving nonprofit organizations focused on increasing access to bilingual healthcare has grown each year. Collaborative programs have provided access to health screenings, immunizations, education, and care to hundreds of families. The Fund has also worked with nonprofit organizations across Delaware to provide funding for bilingual and bicultural mental health therapy and behavioral counseling.

Along with increasing access to healthcare, the Fund is also investing in the future of healthcare in Delaware. With a shortage of bilingual mental health therapists and counselors, the Fund began a comprehensive program, the Latino Mental Health Workforce Program, to recruit and support bilingual, Delawarean students as they pursue careers in mental and behavioral health counseling.

3. Special Youth Programs

With a focus on special youth programs, the Fund's goal is to ensure that local children and teens have opportunities to become healthy, educated leaders in Delaware. These youth programs provide high-quality activities that can be life changing for young girls and boys. The Fund's programs are growing to include more goal-oriented programs for children and their parents. With the growth of the Hispanic population in Delaware, the Fund believes it is imperative to invest in building tomorrow’s leaders.

While funding is provided for one year, some proposals may be eligible for a second or third year of support.

To qualify for grant submission:
- Your organization must have documentation of 501(c)3 status.
