Grants to Anchorage area, Alaska nonprofits that concentrate on the areas of history, arts, journalism, and civic issues. New applicants must contact the Foundation at least two weeks before applying. The funding source will also support post-secondary journalism education at UAA (University of Alaska Anchorage) and scholarship programs at APU (Alaska Pacific University).

All programs must primarily serve the Anchorage area.

Nonprofit organizations may apply.

Eligible organizations must be based in Anchorage, Alaska with grant funds used to support programs, projects, and activities primarily serving the Anchorage area.

Before applying for the first time, please call and consult with the Foundation at least two weeks before the deadline. First-time applicants who do not consult with the Foundation in advance are usually not funded.

Grant application deadlines:

May 12, 2017 for consideration in June
August 11, 2017 for consideration in September

Complete signed and dated applications are due received by email, mail, or hand-delivered to the Atwood Foundation office by 5:30pm on the deadline date.

Grant applications received after the deadline will, contingent upon available funding, be considered at the following board meeting.

Notification of award or rejection will be sent to all applicants. Funds are generally disbursed at the end of the month of consideration.
