Grants to Chicago Region, Illinois nonprofit organizations to benefit local communities in the areas of environmental stewardship, nutrition, and the positive development of children. An LOI is required prior to submitting a full application. The Foundation seeks to promote the following goals:

-Behavior as individuals and as a community that sustains the planet for future generations.
-ALL in the community have access to healthy food that is both affordable and sustainably produced.
-Children eat well, are physically active, and spend time outdoors.

Aspiramos Juntos (We Hope Together) is a grant making program offered to organizations in the Chicago region by the Lumpkin Family Foundation. The program’s vision and grantmaking guidelines reflect the aspirations of those members of the Lumpkin family who make their homes in the area.

The Foundation is interested in receiving proposals from organizations that:
-Support opportunities for children in/out of school to engage physically with and to learn about the natural world, to eat well, and to make the most of their innate sense of justice and caring for others and the planet.
-Encourage collaboration among organizations and people working on matters related to environmental sustainability and climate change.
-Support the development of a healthy, local food system.
-Preserve and protect important natural places in the Chicago region.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Proposals will be considered from eligible 501(c)(3) organizations that reflect The Lumpkin Family Foundation's mission, serve the community without discrimination on the basis of race, sex, or religion, keep books available for regular independent outside audit, and make results available to all potential contributors, and comply with applicable laws regarding registration and reporting. If you are not a 501(c)(3) organization and have a question about funding eligibility, please contact the Foundation.

Pre-Application Information:

Aspiramos Juntos grants cycles open twice a year, Spring and Fall, and are comprised of an LOI phase and an Application phase.

The Spring 2019 Aspiramos Juntos Grant Cycle will be open for letters of inquiry (LOIs) starting March 8, 2019. LOIs will be due March 29; full applications invited by April 12 with applications due May 13, and final decisions will be made by June 7.

All LOIs and applications are accepted online.
