GrantWatch ID#: 180579
Grants range from $1,000 to $25,000.
Eligible applicants are 501(c)3 organizations or public institutions such as public schools, libraries and local government agencies.
If your organization lacks a letter from the IRS stating that you have 501(c)3 status and you are not a public agency, you will be ineligible for funding beginning in 2010. This means that 501(c)4 organizations are not eligible.
Some organizations have incorporated as nonprofits with the Arkansas Secretary of State but do not have 501(c)3 status from the IRS and therefore will not be eligible for grants.
Individuals are not eligible for grants. Scholarships designated to individuals are sent directly to the college or university, which becomes the legal recipient.
The Foundation tends to deny grants to organizations which receive public funds for the same type of activity.
The Board prefers providing matching funds and challenge grants.
Proposals should be mailed or hand-delivered by May 1.
