Grants to East Mississippi nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and schools for educational projects in eligible counties. Applicants from Clarke, Lauderdale, Kemper, Newton, and Neshoba Counties may submit application requests. Funding may be used for project-related expenses, such as materials, equipment, and supplies.

The Excellence in Education Grant is limited to $3,437.

Term of Contract:

This is a one-time (not multi-year) grant.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, classified as “not a private foundation.” Governmental agencies and public charities may apply.

Payment of grants awarded to teachers, schools or school districts will be sent to the school or district office with the teacher(s)’s names in the memo line of the check.

Grants awarded to community-based 501(c) (3) organizations will be paid directly to the organization.

Pre-Application Information:

Mail or email a completed copy of the application to the Community Foundation of East Mississippi. The Deadline to receive the grant application is March 22, 2019. The grant application must be submitted on or before the deadline. Forms postmarked after March 22, 2019, or emailed after midnight March 22, 2019, will not be accepted.

Grant recipients will be announced no later than May 2019.
