Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation
Grants of up to $10,000 to Idaho nonprofit organizations and government agencies to sustain and preserve the state’s hunting, wildlife, and fishing heritage. Funding is intended to support projects and initiatives in conservation education, wildlife and fish management, and habitat conservation.
The Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation grants program provides funding to the Idaho Department of Fish & Game and other tax-exempt organizations for activities that help meet the Foundation's mission.
Projects generally address one or more of the following areas:
- Habitat conservation: Projects that aid in the protection, restoration or improvement of habitats.
- Fish and wildlife management: Projects that apply management principles to protect or enhance fish and wildlife resources.
- Conservation education: Projects that help educate all Idahoans about the state’s diverse fish and wildlife.

Maximum Funding Request: $10,000
The proposed project may be a stand-alone project or be a distinct phase of a larger or ongoing project. All grant funds must be expended and proposed projects or phases of projects must be completed, by December 31, 2020.
The Foundation does not fund multi-year proposals.
Eligible applicants include the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and tax-exempt organizations.
Only one applicant may apply for funding. If it’s a consortium, the lead applicant may apply.
Volunteer groups are required to have fiscal sponsorship and authorization via an endorsement letter by a tax-exempt organization.
The Foundation does not fund projects outside of Idaho, multi-year proposals, salaries (except for contract personnel needed for projects), advocacy or fundraising activities, ongoing operating costs, or pass–through grants.
Applications must be received by April 30, 2019 (postmarks do not apply). Awards will be announced by August 31, 2019.
