Southwest Minnesota Arts Council (SMAC)
Award of $1,000 to a Minnesota individual for significant contributions to the arts in the 18-county area of Southwestern Minnesota. The award recipient will be recognized for activities that took place over an extended period of time. In recognizing this individual publicly, the award program will raise the profile of the arts in the recipient's community and throughout the SMAC region.

Nominations may be made by any individual (other than the nominee).
The SMAC region includes the following 18 counties in Southwest Minnesota: Big Stone, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Renville, Rock, Swift, and Yellow Medicine
- This award can be received only once in a lifetime.
- The nominated individual must have resided in the SMAC region for at least one year.
- Current SMAC board members are not eligible to be nominated.
- Nominations will not be carried over from year to year. Previous nominees who did not receive the award must be re-nominated.
Nominations must be submitted online by April 15, 2019. SMAC Board action regarding the nominations will take place April 23, 2019.
Nominators are required to provide SMAC with at least two letters in support of the nomination.
