Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Minnesota libraries, museums, historical societies, archives, and other nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies for the preservation of cultural heritage resources. Applicants should contact program staff prior to applying. This program will cover the cost of digitizing qualifying materials. Proposals will be accepted in a wide range of general Minnesota-based topic areas. Priority will be given to submissions that increase the diversity of stories represented in MDL and add to MDL's ability to more fully share the state's complex history.

The Minnesota Digital Library (MDL) is a statewide project supported by the people of Minnesota. Its purpose is to provide access to collections housed in organizations such as libraries, archives, museums, historical societies, and other cultural heritage institutions from across the state in one centralized, easily searchable location. To achieve that purpose, the MDL assists these organizations with converting valuable resources to digital formats, sharing digital expertise, and providing access to services such as digital project management, training and assistance in project development, metadata creation, and education in best practices and standards for digitization work.
