Grants to Iowa nonprofit organizations and government agencies for projects that impact the economic vitality or quality of life in eligible locations. Funding is intended to benefit local communities through public, educational, civic, religious, patriotic, and charitable activities. Grantmaking focus areas include economic development, conservation, housing, family services, natural resources, recreation, transportation, and youth services. Eligible projects should benefit Dickinson County.

The minimum funding request is $500.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Charitable, non-profit groups and organizations [501(C)(3) or 170(b) units of government organizations] are encouraged to apply. Non-profit organizations without either status may apply by seeking a fiscal agent that does.

The DCEF will not support “for-profit” entities, annual campaigns, endowments, or projects that do not serve Dickinson county residents.

Pre-Application Information:

Application materials are available by May 15th with completed applications due by June 30th. Awards are announced September 1st.

Partial funding may be awarded for the project; if this is the case, applicants will be contacted to determine whether or not projects will be able to be carried out as described with additional funds from other sources.
