Grants of up to $5,000 to Kansas nonprofit organizations for programs that benefit Shawnee County. Programs in the areas of arts and youth will be given priority. Preference will also be given to proposals that include multiple sources of funding, as well as collaborations between organizations. Awards will be determined by the quality and strength of the case presented for the identified community need.

Some of the criteria that will be considered in reviewing proposals are:
- Impact: Who will be served?
- Community: Is there a demonstrated need for this program?
- Feasibility: Is the program realistic? Are there clear goals?

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grant awards are expected to be $5,000 or less. Requests exceeding that amount will be considered on a limited basis only, based on demonstrated need and the availability of funding.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Greater Topeka Fund will accept proposals from nonprofit organizations which serve Shawnee County.

Organizations are eligible to receive funding from the Greater Topeka Fund only once each calendar year.

The Topeka Community Foundation does not fund staff salaries, overhead costs, fundraising events, or political campaigns.

Pre-proposal Conference:

To learn about 2018 Grant Opportunities for organizations that serve Shawnee County, four informational meetings have been scheduled. These meetings will cover information about Topeka Gives, as well as our two Grant Opportunities.

Informational Meetings will all be held at the Topeka Country Club, 2700 SW Buchanan Street.

Pre-Application Information:

The committee will meet quarterly to review applications and make allocation decisions. The 2018 schedule is as follows, or as long as funds are available:
- January 31, 2018
- April 30, 2018
- July 31, 2018
- October 31, 2018
