Grants averaging just over $4,500 to California nonprofit organizations and government entities including public schools, colleges, and law enforcement agencies for projects that promote and encourage shooting range activities, hunting safety, and responsible firearms use. Funding is also available for capital improvements.
Funding is available for two types of grant requests:
The State Fund Grant Program
The State Fund Grant Program allows The Foundation to provide supplies, equipment, and financial support to a variety of qualified groups and programs at the local level; geared towards youth, women, law enforcement, veterans, the disabled, and the general public, including:

Capital Improvement Projects:
Any request to support a project that seeks to improve a facility is considered a capital improvement. This includes, but is not limited to:
Grant Requests which include Trap Machines:
The NRA Foundation considers requests for certain trap machines to be a capital improvement to the facility. Specifically, requests for commercial grade trap machines that are designed to be a permanent fixture at a facility (regardless of their portability).

Grant awards vary greatly based on project and the State Fund area. Across the country, the average State Fund grant award is valued at just over $4,500.
The grant does not support multi-year funding of projects. Requests must be submitted for consideration each year for that year’s costs only.
