In-kind book donations to New Hampshire and Vermont first through sixth-grade teachers. Funding is intended to inspire students with a love of reading and writing. While certain titles may have limited quantities, the funding source hopes to be able to give all entrants books.

To apply, teachers will have their students answer the following prompt: Why do you think that your classroom should receive a brand new class set of books?

For first and second grade classrooms, children should draw a picture and write one-two sentences explaining why their classroom should receive new books, Differentiation - have students who cannot yet write full sentences on their own, draw a picture and label the parts.

For third and fourth grade classrooms, students should write a paragraph (three to five sentences) answering the prompt above. Differentiation - have students who cannot yet write a full paragraph on their own dictate thoughts to a teacher to scribe, or draw a picture and include one-two sentences explaining their picture.

For fifth and sixth grade classrooms, students should write a detailed paragraph explaining why their classroom is deserving of new books. Differentiate as necessary.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Books must be used by programs or classrooms based in New Hampshire or Vermont.

Entries will be accepted until November 1, 2017. Winners will be notified by November 15, 2017.
