A program is available to New Mexico high school students who are interested in promoting change in their communities and schools. Participating students will learn about education policy within the state, receive training in leadership development, learn how to engage in education policy, and have the opportunity to network with other student leaders and leader teachers from around New Mexico.

The purpose of the Student Leader Network is to cultivate a group of engaged students to act as vehicles for change in their schools and communities. Through New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) provided webinars and in-person sessions, students will bring valuable ideas and insights to the PED, while learning about education policy and reform in New Mexico. The Student Leader Network will advance the exchange of ideas and improve the quality of education in New Mexico’s schools.
