Grants ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 to USA nonprofit organizations to support activities that promote financial empowerment in low-income communities. Funding may be used for specific projects as well as general operating support.

The Funding Source defines “financial empowerment” as providing the information, tools and coaching needed to achieve financial sustainability in the short- and long-term. As further described below, organizations eligible for funding include those that are working to help low-income individuals and communities reduce bad debt, make the most of their financial resources, and build assets.

After an organization’s approved funds have been expended, they will be required to provide a final report, due by April 1, 2019.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible applicants must be certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in the United States and serve missions related to our philanthropic goal of enabling financial empowerment.

Investopedia grants will not fund: specific religious activities or beliefs; public school systems; direct grants to individuals; lobbying or political activities; major research projects; any commercial business purpose; multi-year grants; event sponsorship, volunteerism or community initiatives; private foundations; endowments, building campaigns, special events, annual funds, or any other prohibited activities, in its sole discretion. Nor will Investopedia grants fund any organizations that Investopedia believes to have been or currently be engaged in any conduct that violates any law, rule, or regulation.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for submitting all applications is January 31, 2018.

Funding decisions will be announced by April 2018.

Any applicant offered a grant must sign the Terms and Conditions in order to participate in the program.

Any entity that is awarded an Investopedia grant will be required to participate in reasonable publicity efforts with Investopedia related to the award of the grant and the Investopedia.org program.
