Awards to recognize Nevada individuals, organizations, and businesses that have worked to increase immunization awareness, improve immunization rates, provide in-kind services and other activities to help promote immunizations across Nevada. Please review the submission categories listed below before submitting your nomination.

There are fifteen distinct Silver Syringe categories for nomination and each category has two winners: one for Southern Nevada and one for Northern Nevada.

Silver Syringe Categories Include:

Outstanding Childhood Immunization Program - Given to an individual, organization, or provider who demonstrates exceptional dedication to childhood immunizations.

Outstanding Adolescent Immunization Program - Given to an individual, organization, or provider who demonstrates exceptional dedication to adolescent immunizations, or engagement of the adolescent population by going beyond just providing the required vaccines, but the recommended ones as well.

Outstanding Adult Immunization Program - Given to an individual, organization, or provider who demonstrates exceptional dedication to adult immunizations, especially at-risk populations, and understands the importance of vaccinating adults.

Outstanding Influenza Immunization Program - Given to an individual, organization, or provider who demonstrates exceptional dedication to ensuring access to influenza vaccine or provided education to their community members.

Outstanding Rural Immunization Program - Given to an individual, organization, or provider who demonstrates exceptional dedication to ensuring access to immunizations in Nevada’s Rural and Frontier communities.

Outstanding Pharmacy Immunization Program - Given to a pharmacy partner that demonstrates exceptional dedication to immunizations to ensure the community is able to access vaccines that otherwise may not be available.

Outstanding Media Partner - Given to an individual or organization who demonstrates exceptional dedication to immunizations and furthering the mission of Immunize Nevada through media partnership and promotion.

Outstanding Community Partner - Given to a community organization that demonstrates exceptional dedication to immunizations and furthering the mission of Immunize Nevada through collaboration and partnership.

Outstanding Corporate Partner - Given to a corporate partner that demonstrates exceptional dedication to immunizations and furthering the mission of Immunize Nevada through substantial financial and/or in-kind support.

Innovation in Immunization - Given to an individual, organization, or provider who demonstrates exceptional innovation in developing and executing immunization programs and projects.

Outstanding Immunize Nevada Volunteer - Given to an individual or group who has worked hand-in-hand with Immunize Nevada to better extend our efforts as a community resource and help promote the mission of Immunize Nevada.

Outstanding Medical Assistant - Given to an individual who works to better the clinic or practice through exceptional immunization practices and efforts; going above and beyond normal job tasks.

Outstanding Immunization Nurse - Given to a nurse who demonstrates exceptional dedication to immunizations throughout his/her career.

Outstanding Physician Champion - Given to a physician who demonstrates exceptional dedication to immunizations throughout his/her career.

Outstanding Immunization Champion - Given to an individual who demonstrates exceptional dedication to and advocate for immunizations.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Silver Syringe Awards shall recognize individuals, organizations, or businesses that have worked to increase immunization awareness, improve immunization rates, provide in-kind services and/or other activities to help promote immunization health across Nevada.

Pre-Application Information:

All nominations must be submitted by Friday, December 14, 2018.

The 21st Annual Silver Syringe Awards are being held in April 2019 during National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) in both northern and southern Nevada to recognize individuals and/or organizations statewide at two separate dinner awards ceremonies.
