Grant Description
Grants to Indiana youth working with a nonprofit to develop a service project that will improve the quality of life for residents in eligible locations. Funding is intended to support youth involvement and encourage philanthropy for the next generation of community leaders. Grants must serve residents in Rush County.

Youth in Philanthropy awards grants to youth-led service projects for the betterment of Rush County. Past grant recipients include Girl Scouts (to make dog beds for the animal shelter), Peer Helpers and Facilitators “PHAF” (to make care packages for the elementary), and FFA (to purchase candy for their Truck-or-Treat).

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Any youth involved with a non-profit organization in Rush County who has a philanthropic project or service idea to benefit Rush County or Rush County residents is encouraged to apply.

As a general rule, it does not make grants from unrestricted funds for the following:
- Ongoing operating expenses or annual fundraising drives
- Existing obligations, debt reduction or building campaigns
- Individuals or travel expenses
- Multi-year grants or repeat funding
- Advocacy or political purposes
- Religious or sectarian purposes
- Loans or endowments

The Rush County Community Foundation does not discriminate in matters of age, race, religion, sex or native origin and expects that grant applicants observe like standards.

Pre-Application Information
The deadlines to apply are March 1 and October 15. The application is to be completed by the youth and overseen by their adult leader.

If fundraising is a part of the project, a portion of the proceeds should be returned to the YIP Fund, to further grow the endowment, which will continue to support youth-lead philanthropy.
