Grants starting at $500 to Maryland nonprofit organizations, agencies, and religious organizations for programs that directly benefit the residents of Frederick County. Funding is also available for organizations that are meeting the specific needs of individual Frederick County residents.

Funding opportunities include: Rolling Grants- Project application, and Rolling Grants- Individual Needs application.

Rolling Grants- Project application should be used to support programs and services offered through the organization. Applications must identify the specific impact that their project or program will have on Frederick County.

Rolling Grants- Individual Needs application should be used to apply for grants to support a specific individual or household who meets the fund purpose. Applications must provide an individualized needs assessment and explain the selection process for eligible households.

Each fund listed below is designated for specific purposes with the amount available noted.

- Compofelice Family Fund for Building Trades: $2,746.35
- William O. Lee, Jr. and Family Endowment Fund: $562.97
- Don Doughty and Linda Moran Fund: $1,039.00

The minimum grant request is $500.

Term of Contract:

All reimbursement requests must be completed by June 3, 2019.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Community Foundation administers grants to organizations providing direct benefits to Frederick County residents.

All applying organizations must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for a grant:

The organization must be:
- A nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization in good standing with the IRS.
- An existing government/quasi governmental agency applying for an extraordinary project not funded by tax revenue.
- A religious organization requesting funding for non-sectarian activities.
- A civic group that is not a 501(c)(3) organization requesting funding for a community cause.

In addition, 501(c)(3) organizations must be in good standing with:
- Maryland Secretary of State's charitable division:
- Department of Assessment & Taxation's Maryland Personal Property tax division:
- IRS, as assessed via GuideStar’s Charity Check:

Funds for Nonprofits Meeting Individual Needs of Frederick County Residents Program Restrictions:
- Applications from organizations that are not a 501(c)3 may only be for direct vendor payments.
- Individuals may not apply.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are accepted until May 1, 2019.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis throughout the application period. Notification of award or denial will be provided within 45 days of application submission.

Grants of $1,000 and less will be paid upon receipt of a signed grant agreement. Grants over $1,000 are reimbursement-based.
