Grants to Northern Indiana businesses and nonprofit organizations for projects that increase and enhance tourism in St. Joseph County. Funding is intended for capital investment projects that focus on expanding the appeal of St. Joseph County as a tourist destination and encouraging increased visitor spending. Ideally, a variety of projects will be funded on an annual basis to improve the experience of visitors to SJC while providing critical assistance toward new or enhanced tourism product development.

Applications will be evaluated on a number of parameters, including:
-Clear commitment and objective to increase tourism and related visitor spending with supporting evidence as to how this outcome would be achieved.
-Demonstrated ability to match any requested funds at a minimum of 100%. (Exceptions can be made based on non-for-profit status of applicant.)
-Overall quality of application including supporting documentation
-Bonus: New projects satisfying an unmet need in St. Joseph County

Up to $400,000 can be applied for through this fund, but the review committee reserves the right to partially fund any application

Term of Contract:

Funds are not intended to be an ongoing or renewable allotment. Funds must be used to begin or complete project by December 31, 2018.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Businesses and nonprofit organizations may apply for funding for capital projects within SJC only.

Applications seeking programmatic or fundraising assistance will not be considered.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications should be emailed in PDF format by February 28, 2018. Notification of recipient(s) will be take place by March 31, 2018.

The project lead organization and corresponding contact information must be clearly stated in the opening description of the proposed project. Applications should follow the evaluative criteria listed on the Fund Overview PDF (see Supporting Documents below) when describing the proposed project.
